San Diego

Bret was scheduled to go to a training in San Diego, and so I took vacation time to go with him. We were going to go on a little vacation, then a little change of plans. Bret got a new job. He is now a Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for the County. With that change, no more conference, but we decided to go to San Diego anyways. We also decided to go to as many of the Diners, Drive Ins and Dives stops that we could possibly cram into one weekend.
First Stop on Friday night was the Ghiradelli Square Chocolate Factory, for some amazing Hot Chocolate. We got up on Saturday morning and went to a session at the San Diego Temple, this was where we were married, so we love going there when we can.
We then went to Ocean Beach, and went to Hodad's. Bret wanted to go there for the Bacon Cheeseburger, where they make a burger with an entire patty of Bacon.

Bret, showing off his burger, it was huge, and my little kids meal was even really big.
That night, we went on a Harbor Cruise, that went around the San Diego Harbor, it had little snacks, and was just a fun night.

Enjoying the Sunset Cruise.
I do think we may have been a few of the only sober passengers on board, made for an entertaining evening.
After the boat tour, we continued our Triple D tour, and went to Pizzeria Luigi, it was so good. You choose which slice you want, and they cook it up for you, they are constantly making pizza, it was delicious.

The next morning, we went up to the Cabrillo National Monument, and took a little hike around, and found this National Cemetary.
We went to Belmont Park, and found an Artisan Fair.
We then went to El Indio, where we had great Mexican Food. They had amazing tortillas, and other great food too.
Sorry, this picture is out of order, this is where we stopped on the way home.
We drove through the parking lot of Hotel del Coronado to take pictures, we want to stay here someday.

The view from the monument.
The is the Pastrami Bacon Cheeseburger at Oinkster, in Los Angeles, Bret was in Heaven, and they have really great Chicken Salad too.
I forgot to take a picture of our food at El Indio, so these are the tortillas we brought home.
We had a great time, spending time with each other, and eating our way through San Diego.
