Bret has a new job!!!! We have waited for the day that we could say those wonderful magical words! He will be the Administrative Coordinator for the Child Support Services Division for Kern County. Bret is very excited for this new opporunity, he put his two weeks notice in today and he will start on April 13th.
And now we are both Coordinators, so if you need something coordinated, I guess we are now the people to take care of those needs.

On Tuesday Wendy and Willow took me so we could all get pedicures, and then Russ decided to come and so Bret did too (they are both very confident in their manhood and thoroughly enjoyed the footrub. Thank you ladies and Russ too!

Surprise....
...or not so suprise! : ) Bret planned a party for our friends for the 1st Annviersary of my 29th Birthday, for those who don't know, I'm not a fan of this turning 30 thing, and so Bret took me to my favorite place: Famous Daves for a night of Bowling on the Wii on the big screen and Ribs which are always tasty.
He tried very hard to make it a surprise (and thanks to Willow and Wendy for helping out), but as they all said, I can sniff out a party, but I truly appreciated everything that Bret and the girls did to make the night fun.
Thank you to each of our friends who came to celebrate as well, I hope you had fun too!

They say it's your birthday...
I am truly blessed to have a wonderful husband who helps my birthday to last a week, he had a present for me each day,
we started out the week with Mon. See's Truffles Tues. Cute Dodgers Necklace. Wed. a card table Thursday: Amazing Pajamas (yes, they are amazing, just ask me about them) and on Friday: an awesome dodgers hoodie (super excited that it's almost baseball season) Sat: I found a cute Wizard of Oz mug that I loved.

We started out Friday to see Grease, it was a super fun show, and Taylor Hicks (as teen angel) was actually quite entertaining. The show had a fun enthusiasm made better by the crowd.
On Saturday, we headed to San Diego, and first stop was the temple, where they had beautiful Calla Lilies (my favorite)
We then wandered around Old Town, had lunch at Cafe Coyote where the Mariachis sang Happy Birthday to me. We then went to our Hotel, the view above is from the room.
We then headed to Little Italy, yes in San Diego for dinner and to walk arou
We went back to the temple to take pictures at night, it was gorgeous, and I am so happy this is "our temple" (we were married there).
The next day we headed to Seaport Village and found these cute little ducklings, and then we went to Horton Plaza, this is the cool Grant Building across the street.
We went over to Balboa Park to explore, it was really neat, this was the outdoor pipe organ, there was a german organist who played beautifully.

And we capped off the night by stopping at Claim Jumper, where I had a wonderful Red Velvet Cupcake for dessert.

An Important Letter
Dear Time Change,
I need for you to be aware of the havoc that you wreak on my life. You make it very difficult to arise in the morning and even more difficult to retire in the evening. You are an unecessary part of the time routine which we have developed.
I understand that historically the time change was used due to the farmer's needing more light during the summer, however these amazing things called halogen lamps were invented. These lamps completely irradicate the need for you to come and mess with all that is good.
If you could just stay one way of the other we could all be content with the hours of the day, though you come along just about the time we all get used to the time of day and suddenly it's time to spring forward. Mr. Time Change, I don't "Spring" very well in the morning on a typical basis and you make it exceedingly more difficult when you choose to make me move the clock forward.
Mr. Time Change, I know that there are many others who feel in the affirmative and I could gather those signatures to develop a lenghty petition for you to discontinue falling back or springing forward from this point forward.
I realize that you may not have feelings, but I need you to know that Mr. Time Change I loathe thee.

Proudly presenting....our niece!
We had a wonderful time in Washington, and were so excited to see Olivia. We were thrilled that Mat and Bri had taught her to say our names and she could do it as soon as we arrived.

Washington-Day Five
On our last day in Washington we went to see the Temple and a beatiful park and had a pickanic.
We love you Washington, we will be back soon.

Washington, Day Four
On Day Four, it was the magical Lion King Day, and so we headed in to Seattle for the day again. These are in some crazy order, sorry about that, but enjoy.
The view from dinner, it was great, for everyone who liked seafood.
Trophy Cupcakes, Martha Stewart has been here and they were really tasty cupcakes.

Overlooking Seattle, for those of you who watch the Bachelor, Jason's "houseboat" is right behind us.
It's time for the Lion King, ask Brianne to be Rafiki for you, it's quite entertaining.
The Locks, this was neat to see, they have to make the waterlevel come up so the boats come through.
And apparantly when I'm not around, Bret finds it amusing to take pictures of the urinals.
The Locks and the gardens, not too pretty in February, but what can you do.
The Troll, Olivia didn't know what to think, but then decided it was kind of fun.

Our third day in Washington was a great tourist day. Mat and Bri took us to Seattle to show us all of the sights.
It all started with an exciting trip to the Carwash, Mat was very excited to go, and then we headed to the Walmart.
And then we headed to the "Emerald City" to see the sights.
We went to the Space Needle, and had lunch while we spun around, very slowly, it was so cool, the view was incredible, and the food, it was good---
Olivia liked the view, and her snacks as well.

And then on to the Famous Pike's Place Market
We waited and waited for them to throw the fish, we were a minute too late and saw part of it, but it's always fun to see and FISH is a great book to read if you are interested.
We went on a ferry ride, we didn't go far, we got right back on, but it was a fun way to see the city.

It's cold outside, what are we doing, but then we got to go in for Hot Chocolate, and it was great!
And headed home after the long day in the city.
